The Crazy Canucks at the Tour

By cycling - Published July 27, 2010

Both Canadian riders in the Tour de France had the same thing to say Sunday after the final stage on the Champs Elysees: They were amazed by the number of Canadian fans during the Tour de France. All over the course there were Canadian flags on display and even more fans wearing shirts, hats or scarfs supporting the Maple Leaf.

Among the fans were a group from Ontario who, for the second year in a row, were part of a tour put on by Custom Getaways, the official tour provider of the Tour de France. At the time trial on the second-to-last stage of the race Saturday, the group donned the red and white to cheer on the two Canadians in as animated a way as they could.
