24 Hours of Summer Solstice registration opens February 2
By Rob Sturney - Published January 31, 2012Registration for the 2012 24-Hours of Summer Solstice will open at approximately 9 AM EST and continue to 1 PM on February 2 here.
This year’s edition will be run June 23 and 24 at the Albion Hills Conservation Area, a 45-minute drive north of Toronto. The course is a 17 kilometre loop that is 40% single track with plenty of rolling double track for riders to unclench and pass on the left. The 15th annual Summer Solstice will take a considerable amount of Chico Racing’s energy and resources, so there will be no Hot August Nights this year.
There are multiple categories, such as the ambitious solo category and the wrestling-free tag team division, not to mention 4, 5 or 6 to 10 person teams. There’s even a No Nite category for those who aren’t comfortable riding in the dark or have mild oclophobia (the fear of owls).
