WorldTour riders line up at Tour de Beauce

18 teams to compete in six-day race

Race organizers of the Tour de Beauce have announced the names of four WorldTour riders that will be participating at the six-day stage race set to take place from June 11-16 in the Saint-Georges de Beauce region of Quebec.

Director Gord Fraser will lead a strong Canadian national team that will include Dominique Rollin from FDJ, Christian Meier from Orica-GreenEdge, Guillaume Boivin from Cannondale Pro Cycling and Hugo Houle from AG2R-La Mondiale.

The team will also include Nic Hamilton from Jelly Belly, Marsh Cooper from Optum Pro Cycling and Rob Britton from Team Raleigh.

Houle had a strong showing during last year’s event, placing second overall to winner from UnitedHealthcare Rory Sutherland, who now races for Saxo-Tinkoff. Meier also put forth a strong performance for third place.

This year’s race will host 18 teams that include Canadian Continental teams Ekoi-Devinci and Garneau-Quebecor led by Bruno Langlois.

Teams with proven talents include Champion System with the national road champion Ryan Roth, Bontrager with Tour of California breakaway rider Antoine Duchesne, Amore & Vita with David Boily, Jamis-Hagens Berman with Tour of California third placed finisher Janier Acevedo, UnitedHealthcare with former overall winner Ben Day and 5 Hour Energy-Kenda with former overall winner Francisco Mancebo.

The remaining teams include Bissell Pro Cycling, Inteja -Dominican Cycling, Medique p/b Silber Investments, Astellas Oncology Norco Bicycles-Premier Tech, Hincapie Sportswear Development, Novo Nordisk, Team H&R Block and Century Road Club Association.
