“It is my favourite weekend of the year,” says Patrick Rea. Rea’s been doing “the Ride” since it began eight years ago. Since it started, the Ontario Ride to Conquer Cancer has raised more than $119 million for cancer research. It’s now the largest cycling event in Canadian history. In 2014, the Ontario ride raised $20 million with more than 5,000 riders. The Ride is also the biggest national fundraiser having raised more than $262 million across Canada.
