MEC had a very Belgian tent at the 2015 Canadian cyclocross championships; riders and spectators could pick up free Belgian waffles, as well as check out a few of the store’s bikes from the Belgian builder Ridley. MEC also had a house-brand machine that is just as comfortable with mud as its European counterparts.

MEC Côte
The MEC Côte is a steel-frame do-it-all machine. The frame is made of Reynolds 520 tubes, which roll on Alex AClass CXD5s tubeless-ready disc brake wheels. The bike will take you over gravel roads well, whether it’s on short rip or a long tour. If you want to try out cyclocross, the Côte is game. The rig is also at home in town on trips to the office and errands on the way back.
