The road race and the time trial of the 2016 Grand Prix Cycliste Gatineau will feature riders from Canada, the U.S., Mexico. France, Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia

Kimberley Wells

The eighth edition of the Grand Prix Cyclist Gatineau UCI WE 1.1 road race will feature riders from around the world and teams from the U.S. and Canada. There will be 78 riders on the start line in Gatineau Park for the 104 km race.

Last year, Kimberley Wells won the race and in 2015 it was Kirsten Wild. Neither of the past two former winners are here but Joëlle Numainville who won in 2010 and finished second the past two editions will be on the starline as is third-place finisher from 2016 Leah Kirchmann.

The riders will go for two laps through Gatineau Park before hitting a 9.4 km urban circuit for five laps. In past years the reduced peloton from the hills in the park hit the circuit with aggressive racing on the circuit before the strongest teams come to the fore to control affairs.
