5 tips for a successful cyclocross season

Cycling coach Peter Glassford works with many aspiring cyclocross racers. In this video, the Trek-sponsored rider provides five quick tips that will help you have a fun and rewarding season.

Glassford starts with gear, focusing on the clothing that will keep you warm before and after the race. He also discusses tire selection as you need the right treads for the conditions. After gear, Glassford talks about the training you can do to prepare for your first ‘cross race. Because the action is intense throughout a short period of time, intervals are the way to go. The coach reminds you to remember to practise skills such as mounting, dismounting and carrying  the bike. Also, remember to have fun.
