The Scott-3Rox mountain bike team announced the addition of two Americans to the roster for the 2015 season. Teal Stetson-Lee and Erin Huck were introduced to team sponsors and supporters at the end of season team gala in Toronto on Tuesday evening.

“For 2015 we’ve added Erin Huck,” said Kyle Douglas, Team Manager for Scott-3Rox. “She had an outstanding season in the US series, and was getting her get feet wet in world cups last year. We’ve also added Teal Stetson-Lee, obviously a very well known rider on the North American circuit.

“We’re looking for our women’s program to get that much stronger and have that much bigger of a presence on the race scene. Now we’ve got three strong women in the program.”

Teal Stetson-Lee moved to Scott-3Rox following a stint with Team Luna, arguably one of the best teams in the world. The Luna Chix have dominated women’s mountain biking, led by Catharine Pendrel and Katerina Nash.

“It was really hard to leave Luna because they’re an amazing family,” said Stetson-Lee. “Scott is a really progressive and innovative brand and doing great things with their women’s line. I saw this as an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

“I’ve been expanding my racing career in the last year and a half in terms of doing more enduro stuff. I’m hoping to do the same thing with Scott-3Rox and getting out to some of the bigger national series enduro races. I’ll also be aiming at the US XC series, and then a big season of cyclocross.”

Erin Huck is new to professional racing. A mechanical engineer working in the biomedical industry, Huck started racing as a hobby in 2007 and had some strong results early on. In 2014, the Boulder, Colo., resident raced for Team USA and finished second in the US Pro XCT series.

“Observing the team at races, they really truly are a family,” said Huck. “I could see how Kyle was looking out for all the riders. They’re very respectful and I liked riding with them, and I was looking for an environment where I could grow as an athlete. It’s really a perfect fit.”

Canadian Mikaela Kofman has retained her spot on the team for the 2015 season, and is excited to have two new women joining the team.

“We’ve raced together as competitors before,” said Kofman of her new teammates. “It’s really exciting to have more women on the team. The idea of being able to do team tactics is great and I’m looking forward to using that this season.”

“I also hope it keeps the boys in check a little too. I’m very excited.”

Absent from the 2015 roster is ten-year veteran of Scott-3Rox, Amanda Sin.

“Hopefully I see her at races,” said Douglas. “I think she’s a great athlete and a great person and achieved a lot for us in the ten years she was on the team.”

The 2015 race season starts in just a few months with the Bonelli and Fontana US Cups in March, followed by the Continental Championships. Five World Cup races, World Championships and the 2015 Pan-Am games mark the highlights of the Scott-3Rox calendar for the coming year.
