Full Canadian race program for Hugo Houle

HouleLast Saturday Hugo Houle confirmed that he would not race in the Vuelta a Espana. Originally it was a part of his program and his chances appeared to be strong when his name appeared on the the long list that was announced last week. Houle however will not be racing the Vuelta as originally planned, although he seems quite content to be doing the races he is set to do.

On his Facebook page last weekend he posted a photo of the Drôme Provençale in southern France where he is currently preparing for his next block of racing. Beginning Aug. 19th through to the 22th, Houle will race in the Tour de Limousin in France, followed by the Vattenfall Classic in Germany. Following the two races in Europe, Houle will venture back to home soil for a complete Canadian program. He is scheduled to race in the Tour of Alberta on Sept. 2nd through to the 7th and Grand Prix Cyclistes de Quebec and Montreal on the Sept. 12th and 14th respectively.

Houle has had a strong second season in in the WorldTour for his team AG2R. As one of Canada’s top rouleurs, he’s featured in several key break-aways throughout the year. It’s likely his form is on the rise and he’ll certainly be a protagonist in races on home soil.

Houles’ full race program and news can be found on his Facebook page.
