Gallery: Thunder and lightning neutralize elite and under-23 men’s Canadian road cycling championship race

Weather causes chaos on Tunney's pasture

After 50 km of racing the elite and under-23 men’s Canadian championship race was neutralized. The race got underway under sunny skies but a storm on the horizon did not bode well. Rain began to come down just as Nick Zukowsky and Matteo Dal-Cin attacked. They were brought back and when the race hit the line the organizers neutralized the riders to let the storm pass.

The race resumed about 10 minutes after it was neutralized with 110 km remaining.
