The International Mountain Bike Association Canada and Subaru Canada will continue to work together to help build new riding opportunities for mountain bikers all across Canada.

Subaru Canada is continuing their support of the IMBA Trail Care Crew for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. The Crew makes use of a Subaru Outback and travels across the country to present trail building workshops, help local clubs and landowners create new trails, and assist in the development of trails in Canadian national parks.

The 2015 season marks the sixth year of support by Subaru for IMBA Canada’s programming. The program is modelled after a similar sponsorship in the USA that has existed between Subaru USA and IMBA since 1997.

“Subaru Canada and the Ontario Subaru Dealer Advertising Association are excited to continue our support as the official car of IMBA Canada and the Trail Care Crew,” said Floyd Jones, Director Central Region, Subaru Canada, Inc. “We view the excellent work IMBA and the Crew do as an important component to promoting an active lifestyle, combined with a strong environmental message.”

The announcement is welcome news after IMBA Canada faced challenges over the last few years. Lora Woolner has returned to the role of Executive Director, and with a small but dedicated board of directors, IMBA Canada is again on its way to playing an instrumental role in trail development in Canada.

“Lovingly referred to as our ‘IMBA-rus’, IMBA Canada’s Subaru Outbacks have been more than a vehicle by which to deliver IMBA Trail Building Schools coast to coast; they have been home-base to our Crews — A place to work, drive, sleep and ‘hang their hats’ after a long day in the field,” says IMBA Canada’s Executive Director Lora Woolner. “We are so grateful to Subaru Canada for supporting our mission and programs, and the growth of trail opportunities across Canada.”

IMBA Canada will announce a 2015 Trail Care Crew Schedule in the near future. Clubs wishing to arrange a visit should contact IMBA Canada through their website.
