Cycling and coffee are the perfect pair. These gifts deepen the connection between bike and bean.

Cycling Souvenirs

Cycling and coffee are the perfect pair. We have some java to help us get out on our ride, which usually has a stop at the coffee shop. These gifts deepen that connection between bike and bean.

If you’re a bikepacker, you can get your coffee fix in on the trail with the Handpresso wild hybrid espresso machine (1, $120, mec.ca). Since you’re familiar with portable pumps, pumping up the Handpresso will come naturally. You then add a portafilter full of ground coffee and hot water. Seal up the unit, and then pull a shot.

Hartmann Washed + Natural espresso by Calgary’s Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters (2, $17, 3/4 lb. bag, philsebastian.com) are just the beans for the job. The coffee from Panama has notes of strawberry jam, nectarine and dark chocolate.

For enjoying a shot at home, maybe while watching a Sunday in Hell, a retro cycling team espresso cup is the thing (3, $27, includes saucer [not shown], cyclingsouvenirs.com). Teams include Molteni, Renault, Brooklyn, 7-Eleven and more. Each cup has a thick wall and is heated in a kiln for its high-gloss finish.

To round things out, a print by Cornwall, Ont.’s Bike Centric looks good on the wall, especially Cafe Racer (4, $21, bike-centric-art.myshopify.com).
