Jasmin Glaesser earns points race bronze medal at track worlds

Canada’s Jasmin Glaesser earned the bronze medal in the women’s points race at the UCI world track championships held on Saturday in Cali, Colombia.

Australia’s Amy Cure won the race after accumulating a total of 38 points. Germany’s Stephanie Pohl took the silver medal with 35 points and Glaesser earned bronze with 32 points.

Glaesser was a member of the women’s team pursuit squad that earned the silver medal on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Canada’s Hugo Barrette placed 29th in the men’s sprint qualifying round and did not move forward to the 1/16 finals.

Canada’s Laura Brown kicked off the women’s omnium with ninth place in both the flying lap and the points race, and sixth place in the elimination race. The omnium continues on Sunday.
