Kabush, Zandstra finish on Sea Otter podium

SeaOtter Podium

Scott-3Rox teammates Geoff Kabush and Derek Zandstra finished third and fifth in the Sea Otter pro cross country race on the weekend.

The Canadian teammates finished in a three way race to the line with American Todd Wells nabbing fourth place.

Christoph Sauser of Specialized Racing won the race in a time of two hours, 20 seconds. Second place went to Russell Finsterwald of Colorado Springs, CO.

Canadian Kris Sneddon nabbed 15th overall.

During the women’s race, the top Canadian is also a Scott-3Rox rider. Mikaela Kofman finished in 11th. Victoria, BC rider Mical Dyck finished 16th, with Hayley Smith 18th and Amanda Sin 20th.

Marianne Vos dominated the women’s cross country race, winning by more than a minute over Katerina Nash, who finished second. Evelyn Dong, Chloe Woodruff and Larissa Connors finished third through fifth, rounding out the podium.

Schedule conflicts meant that Emily Batty opted for the World Cup opener in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, while Catharine Pendrel is nursing her way back from a broken collarbone.
