For months throughout the summer, it was a common inside joke to see pictures on social media tagged #crossiscoming. Well now it’s truly arrived with Jingle Cross Iowa City playing host to the first round of the 2017-2018 World Cup. Road fans will say we still have the world road championships coming up which start with the TTT on Sunday and conclude with the elite men’s road race on Sept. 23, and the Giro di Lombardia is only on October 7. However, there’s no more denying ‘cross season has arrived. With it come the exciting duels in sand, mud, on grass, up steep slippery pitches, in the wet and cold on exciting technical courses in North American, Europe and beyond.

The leaves are starting to change, the days are getting shorter and there’s that fall chill in the air. Jingle Cross has held onto it’s Christmas theme despite a change of date to September and it has attracted many of the world’s top cyclocross racers.
