On Tuesday evening, Garneau-Quebecor continued their domination of the Mardis Lachine criterium series. Stage 10 was the final round of the 10-week 2014 series. Despite not setting the course record like the team did last year, in 2014, Garneau-Quebecor continued with their winning ways. Pierrick Naud won his third stage outsprinting Lachine record holder and teammate, Simon Lambert-Lemay. Naud outkicked Lambert-Lemay down the final straight to finish with an average speed of 48km/h. The Garneau-Quebecor duo were clear winners ahead of Veloselect’s Mathieu Roy who placed third on the evening.

“It was a good night. Our team worked well together to get both jersey and the win, We finished first and second for a second year in a row. So it’s nice,” said Pierrick Naud.

The overall was won by Lambert-Lemay with 1114 points, while Naud finished in second two points behind. Transport Lacombe’s Stephen Keeping finished a distant third overall for the series after missing last week’s race and finishing with 755 points.

In the last two seasons, winning the Mardis Lachine criterium serious has become almost routine for the Garneau-Quebecor squad. They effectively put on a criterium clinic every week. With strong sprinters and a cohesive unit, they are in prime position to have a strong showing at the upcoming Tour of Alberta in a few weeks’ time.
