Routley joins Optum presented by Kelly Benefit Strategies

Canada’s Will Routley signed a contract with the American continental team Optum presented by Kelly Benefit Strategies for the 2014 season. The former national road champion joins a series of fellow countryman that are listed on the team’s men’s and women’s rosters.

Routley competed for the professional continental outfit Accent Jobs – Wanty this year and previously raced for teams SpiderTech presented by C10, Jelly Belly presented by Kenda and Symmetrics Cycling. Some of his results include a ninth place at the Tour of Turkey, fifth in a stage at Settimana Coppi e Bartali, third in a stage of Vuelta a Andalucia – Ruta del Sol, second at Tro-Bro Leon, and third place in stages of the Tour de Beauce, Tour de Korea and Tour of Thailand.

Canada’s Ryan Anderson will also be on the men’s team along with Jesse Anthony, Alex Candelario, Jeremy Durrin, Mike Friedman, Bjorn Selander, Tom Soloday, Tom Zirbel, Scott Zwizanski, Eric Young, Brad Huff and Carter Jones.

Canadians Sebastian Salas and Marsh Cooper will not be returning with the team.

Canadian road and time trial champion Joëlle Numainville will lead the women’s team along with her fellow countryman Denise Ramsden, Leah Kirchmann and Annie Ewart. The other members of the team are Courtney Lowe, Lauren Hall, Janel Holcomb, Brianna Walle, Jade Wilcoxson, Maura Kinsella and Amber Pierce.
