Sportsnet will be airing the last two hours of each stage of the 95th Giro d’Italia starting on Saturday, May 5. Sportsnet Ontario will show the 8.5 kilometre prologue time trial in Herning, Denmark from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST. Sportsnet One will repeat the broadcast at 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

This year’s Giro has three Canadian athletes that have been confirmed so far: GreenEdge’s Svein Tuft and Christian Meier, and Garmin-Barracuda’s Ryder Hesjedal, who skipped yesterday’s time trial final stage of the Tour de Romandie. Tuft is expected to do well in the opening short time trial.

As with last year’s Giro, Sportsnet’s coverage will derive from NBC Universal, most likely with commentary from Steve Schlanger and Todd Gogulski.
