Trek Red Truck announces 2015 lineup

For the 2015 season, Trek Red Truck racing team has added four new women and four new men to its squad. One of the high-profile additions to the Western development team is Denise Ramsden. The 2012 Canadian road champion comes over from Optum presented by Kelly Benefit Strategies, where she raced from 2012 to 2014. Ramsden will be co-captain with Trek Red Truck veteran Leah Guloein. Another rider who has moved north from a U.S. squad is Nic Hamilton. The road and track rider joins the men’s road team after spending 2014 with Jelly Belly presented by Maxxis.

The women’s squad also gains Gillian Ellsay, Sara Bergen and Suzanne Hamilton. They join Sarah Coney, Allison Beveridge and Kinley Gibson.

On the men’s side, Willem Boersma, who was third in the Canadian junior cyclocross championship race this past October and the 2013 junior CX champ, joins other ‘crossers, such as Craig Richey and Michael van den Ham, who was third at this year’s CX nationals. Other new team members include Jay Lamoureux and Dylan Davies.

“With a such a great team of characters on and off the bike, I’m really looking forward to the 2015 season and the successful results TRT are going to achieve” says team director Steve Engh.

In 2014, TRT won three national championship medals—Dustin Andrews third in the criterium, Guloein third in the elite women’s road race and Gibson third in the under-23 women’s road race— and swept women’s general classification at Banff Bike Festival. The team also contributed more than $8,000 in scholarships to team riders pursuing post-secondary education.
