When you think of a car for commuting, the first model to come to mind isn’t a Lamborghini. Viks has been designing commuter bicycles since 2013 and has now produced a Lamborghini inspired commuter bicycle. The Estonian companies bicycles are somewhat reminiscent of the strange creations that came out of a project undertaken by Italian-American designer Gianluca Gimini. He discovered that only 25 per cent of the people that he asked to draw a bike from memory could produce an accurate sketch.

Viks are in fact real though and the company decided they wanted to make an edgy bike inspired by the Italian supercar, the Lamborghini Grand Turismo.

The first thing you notice looking at the bike is that it has no seat tube. Instead, the frame uses a double tubing construction allowing for what is certainly a simple and clean look. The tubes are quite thick and there is no adjustability up front where one piece fork bars are used. The frame’s shape is reminiscent of a motorcycle and the double tubing definitely, adds to that similarity. The bikes are hand built in Estonia.

The Lamborghini Viks GT uses sharper edges to increasing the similarities the bike shares with its high performance motorized source of inspiration. The companies regular bikes usually have curved corners. Another change is the entirely aluminium alloy construction that is lighter than the companies other frames. The bike is painted in the Giallo Midas yellow of the supercar.

The bike is single speed using a belt drive to transmit power through to the wheel. This system is becoming increasingly popular because of it’s a low maintenance system without lubrication. To slow down the bike makes use of disc brakes. A batch of different coloured and sized models will be available.
