Petite Fondo Royal LePage

A charity ride to benefit the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation which is dedicated to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs

The Petite Fondo Royal LePage is in its third edition and on September 11, 2016 will take to the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island. The ride benefits the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, Canada’s largest public foundation which is exclusively dedicated to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. The charity serves over 30,000 women and children in its shelters and support programs.

The event aims to raise $10,000 in 2016, up from a goal of $8,500 in 2015 and $7,500 in 2014 both which were achieved. The event seeks to promote healthier active living creating a stronger and safer community. All funds raised from the evnt go towards the Lilli House with Royal LePage and other partners sponsoring all the events other costs.

There are three rides to choose from. A 39-km ride with two wineries on route, the 53-km with three wineries and the 75-km which also stops at three wineries. The wineries participants get to visit are 40 Knots,  Bluemoon and Beaufort. All the rides take to the scenic country roads of the Comox Valley in the region north of the city of Courtenay.

The ride includes three rest stops, each at a winery where participants can sample wine, refill water bottles and refuel with a snack.
