From May 29 to 31, Race the Ridge, one the biggest cycling events in Maple Ridge, B.C., will play host to the road, time trial and criterium B.C. championships, and organizers are looking for volunteers.

The key events all happen in and around the Maple Ridge area in B.C.’s lower mainland, just outside Vancouver. On May 29, the time trial component of the championships happens in Abbotsford, at the Cole Road Rest Stop. The following day, it’s the main road race at 11620 Seux Road in Hatzic, with the Town Core Criterium happening on May 31, starting at 11925 Haney Place in Maple Ridge.

It’s the latter race that Race the Ridge is highlighting with a need for volunteers, all to help out with the various support aspects of the day. From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., personnel will be needed to help set up, assist with road closures, erect barriers and traffic cones, and the flag the course itself. From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., course ambassadors, crosswalk attendants, volunteer supporters and registration assistance is needed. And finally, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., all hands are on deck for the various needs of shutting the whole thing down, namely the removal of barriers and the assorted race equipment.

Anyone interested is encouraged to contact Race the Ridge organizers via the details listed on their website.
