Spectacular riding with the Singletrack 6

There’s a new stage race in Canada, set to begin in July 2014. Called the Singletrack 6, and organized under the Transrockies banner, the event promises to deliver the best cross country riding mixed with amazing enduro descents. Plenty of scenic vistas are also part of the package.

Participants can register either as a two person team, or as a solo rider, but if you want to register, do it soon, the event is already 60% full.

Unlike some stage race events, the Singletrack 6 does not include accommodations. However, organizers have partnered with hotels in each of the towns on the route to ensure special pricing to fit most any budget. A meal package is the easy option to ensure you get fed.

Starting in the Kananaskis region of Alberta, in Bragg Creek on July 26, the race wraps up on July 31st, after crossing into BC for trails in Radium, two days in Golden, and a finishing day in Revelstoke, B.C.

The event promises excellent care and facilities thanks to experience in running the Transrockies races. Categories for racers include Open men’s, women’s and mixed divisions, as well as 80+ and 100+ age categories (those are based on the combined ages of the two riders in a team).

Mechanics and masseuses will help keep you and your bike in as close to top form as possible after each day’s ride.

For those who want to check out the event without racing, there are volunteer opportunities. Perks for helping include $100 per day credit that can be used for a subsequent event registration, or for merchandise.
