My bike Monday: De Rosa King XS

A lightweight climbing machine with simple and stunning lines

De Rosa King XS

De_Rosa-1
The King XS is a new model for Italy’s De Rosa and is a lightweight frameset with a race geometry and refinements to make it fast. The model we had the opportunity to check out at The 11 Inc was built on Dura-Ace with a 50/34 compact crank making it a perfect climbing machine.

The frames lines are sleek with tweaks to make it more aerodynamic. The King XS fork and tapered steer tube are integrated into the frame for improved aesthetics and aerodynamics. The tapered head tube improves front end stiffness and the sloping top tube is designed to allow for there to be good flex in the seat post providing a more comfortable ride.

The bike uses a direct mount braking system meaning each arm of the brake is mounted directly onto the frame instead of via a central bolt to reduce flex and enhance braking performance. The rear brake is hidden behind the bottom bracket for aerodynamics and improved aesthetics. De Rosa also say this increases braking power and it allows for the removal of the brake bridge in the rear stays. This is intended to make the ride more comfortable reducing the vibrations that reach your body from the road and increasing the back ends compliance.

The frame has a race geometry putting the rider in a low and extended aggressive ride position. The bikes lightweight is designed to bound into motion fast and roll up climbs with ease. The aerodynamic refinements and sleek lines make it a fast ride for any terrain and the improved comfort makes it an excellent choice for longer rides.

Shimano’s Dura-Ace mechanical groupset is going to provide exceptionally shifting performance across the 11-28 cassette. Built with Dura-Ace C24 wheels and a compact 50/34 crank there is no question this bike available at The 11 Inc. it is meant to help you get up the hills fast all while looking fantastic doing it. it is available for $15,500.
