The new black finish on the crank is quite stunning on Boonen’s white Specialized S-Works Tarmac which features hints of gold in the lettering of the frame and on the Roval wheels.

Boonen is set to hang up his bike after the 2017 Paris-Roubaix, a race he shares the record for most wins with Roger De Vlaeminck at four. His run up to retirement has already included rides at Milan-Sanremo, E3-Harelbeke, and will include Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields and Ronde Van Vlaanderen which he has won three times.

Whether Boonen adds another win in a cobbled classic to his palmarès has yet to be seen but regardless he will go out in style on a biking fitting of a champion.
