Professional cyclists spend a lot of time on their bikes. They also travel around the world racing their bike and when they aren’t doing one of those two things they are likely recovering with friends or family. Whether you follow them because you are big fans, due to their jet setting lifestyle or just because your friends don’t post enough bike photos these six Canadian road cyclists will fill up your Instagram feed with photos from on and off the bike.

Leah Kirchmann

Second in the inaugural Women’s WorldTour in 2016, Leah Kirchmann took her first win of the 2017 season at the Grand Prix Cycliste Gatineau at the end of May. While living the life as a professional bike racer based for much of the season in Europe, Kirchmann makes trips back home to Canada when her race schedule allows. Kirchmann also enjoys baking so following her will come with some mouth-watering photos.

Michael Woods completed his first Grand Tour in the 2017 Giro d’Italia and if you were following him on Instagram during the race you would have seen scenes from the road as the racers traveled around Sardinia, Sicily and the Italian peninsula.

Gabrielle Pilote-Fortin

Gabrielle Pilote-Fortin races for Cervélo-Bigla and is based, like many Canadians racing for European teams, in Girona, Spain. If you follow her on Instagram you can expect lots of cycling photos but Pilote-Fortin also has an artistic side and is a student so it won’t only be biking photos.

Sara Bergen

Sara Bergen made the jump to Rally Cycling in 2017 and  took the points classification at the 2017 Joe Martin Stage Race as well as podium positions in some early season races. Follow her adventures as she races around North America and does

Christian Meier

Christian Meier has made the transition from professional bike racers to business owner. His retirement has included opening and running three businesses in his adopted home of Girona. Meier and his wife own La Fabrica Girona, Espresso Mafia and The Service Course which also have very active Instagram accounts. Follow Meier and you can expect lots of coffee photos but he also makes time to get out on his custom Speedvagen. There are also two adorable dachshunds in the Meier family.

Ben Perry made the move over to Europe for 2017 racing with the Israel Cycling Academy Pro Continental team. The Canadian under-23 champion is active on social media frequently updating his Instagram story as he travels around to race or just hangs around his home in Girona.
