Maghalie Rochette has started a new team for the 2018-2019 season, her CX Fever p/b Specialized project, which means a whole fleet of brand new race bikes.

Rochette opened a 10 second gap entering the bell lap, and held on to win her first elite Pan-American championship in front of a ecstatic home crowd

At Silver Goose Pan-American cyclocross championships, we caught up with Rochette at the Tenspeed Hero tent as she was getting ready to head out for a practice lap of Sunday’s course. We had just enough time to check out her new Specialized Crux before she headed out for a lap of the Silver Goose.

Rochette won her first Elite Pan-American cyclocross championship aboard her fleet of brightly coloured Crux race bikes, so it seems like the new CX Fever p/b Specialized partnership is working out well for the Canadian.

The Specialized Crux is a S-Works frame painted in the Expert-level colour scheme. When you’re finishing top-10 at World Cup’s and you’re the new Pan-American cyclocross champion, you get to ask Specialized for things like that. Rochette runs three bikes, all set up identically and all 49cm frames. For the hilly Silver Goose Pan-Am course, Rochette had a 38 tooth narrow-wide chainring.
