West is joined by Sarah Strum, 28, on the newly announced Specialized-Tenspeed Hero team. Sturm is a graphic designer from Durango, Colorado who finished second at the US single speed ‘cross championships. “Even though she is a wee bit younger, she is wise beyond her years and I feel I have a lot to learn about the sport that she’s had a lot of experience in,” Strum said of West.

Along with the team announcement, Specialized announced a new colourway of their S-Works 7 shoes and Evade helmets to match with the Tenspeed Hero kits the pair of riders will be wearing throughout the season.

“I think this year we are going to race our heart out—you can count on that—but also have a blast doing so,” said West. “Sarah and I laugh a lot when we are together and she brings out my most positive and confident self.”

Wouldn’t be nice if during the season you could resurrect that feeling of new kit day? In making a collection for the @iamspecialized / @tenspeedhero Cyclocross Team we thought about mood of the pieces, the mood of the athletes, and how it can change during a season or even from Saturday to Sunday!! Maybe @sariebear_ie would desire the bright white geometric print on a dreary day or @ruby__west would like to don the sleek black geo print for racing under the lights at @renocrosscx All we know is your kit can be like any piece of your wardrobe, freedom of choice can give you a boost, make you feel comfortable, confident and maybe even lucky. Check out their story in the link on our bio and there is a race recap at www.tenspeedhero.com [ @iamspecialized + @tsh_women ]
