U.S. VS Canada: What Big Rides in North America Reveal About Two Nations

In 2016, I spent 15 months cycling across Canada, coast to coast to coast, on a fixed-gear bike. For six months, starting In February 2022, I rode around the continental U.S. on a bicycle with gears to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief.

I’m often asked about differences I might have noticed between Canadians and Americans. For me, that’s a tricky subject, but I figure the best way to express the contrasts between the people of both nations is by comparing the different experiences that I had in each country as an immigrant-turned-Canadian citizen . . .
