With Canadian cross country mountain bike championships returning to Ontario, 2019 is shaping up to be an exciting year of racing on the O-Cup circuit.
Ontario Cycling Association released its 2019 O-Cup XCO calendar for the coming race season. The big news is the return of Canadian XCO Championships to Hardwood Ski & Bike for 2019. That’s not the only big event on the O-Cup calendar, though. The province will host a Canada Cup XCO round at Horseshoe resort a week earlier at Horseshoe Resort.
Alongside the national level events, O-Cup series will host eight rounds of cross country racing. This includes Provincial XCO championships on 8 September at Sir Sam’s Ski & Bike. Each racers top five finish results will count towards the series overall title.
Woodnewton will host the first round of Ontario Cup racing on 5 May, just north of Toronto in Uxbridge, Ont. Racing then travels through Albion Hills, Port Hope and Kelso Conservation Area before the two national series events land in the province. Mountainview will give racers one more opportunity to tune up their race plans before Sir Sam’s hosts provincial championships in September.
Superfly Racing and MultiSport Canada have partnered to host six of the eight rounds this coming summer. Pulse Racing will be the host for the combined Canadian XCO Championships / O-Cup event at Hardwood Ski & Bike. Angry Johnny will host the Mountainview Onatario Cup race in August.
