Bollé introduce Trackdown and Trackdown MIPS helmet

French company moves further into cycling with new mountain bike helmet

Longstanding French ski goggle and helmet company, Bollé has moved further into the cycling world, announcing the Trackdown and Trackdown MIPS mountain bike helmet. Loaded with features, including MIPS, for increased rotational impact protection, a removable system of vent caps, and interchangeable summer and cold weather liners, the Trackdown is intended to be the only helmet you need for off-road riding.

With their Trackdown line, Bollé have has created a versatile, year-round helmet for mountain bikers. With the company’s long history in snow sports, you can trust they have experience dealing with adapting equipment to variable temperatures. Removable vent caps can be installed to protect from winters cold and to keep out rain. Bollé includes its interchangeable liner system as a feature on both versions of the Trackdown to keep you riding in comfort through the coldest weather. Additionally, the Trackdown’s standard lightweight summer liner can be replaced with a winter liner that provides more coverage and warmth. Sort of like taking the liner out of your jacket for spring skiing. With the Trackdown, you can have one helmet all year without compromising comfort.

Following on the path of POC, another European ski company moving into mountain biking safety first, Bollé borrows heavily from its ski helmet technology. Bollé’s Avid Progressive EPS system uses layers of different density EPS to create a helmet with progressive shock absorption that will protect you across a wider range of impacts.

Bollé’s first move into cycling came through sponsorship of French World Tour road team, AG2R La Mondial. Similar to POC, they’ve moved from road cycling eyewear and helmets into a growing line of off-road products.
