The 2025 Canadian enduro national championship is set to return to Sun Peaks, BC. With a later date on the calendar and new race-day features, the event continues to cement itself as a premier stop for Canadian enduro racers. From top-tier competitors to those just looking for a fun and challenging weekend on the bike.
Event director Ted Morton sums it up:
“The 2025 Canadian enduro national championship is the penultimate enduro race in Canada, so if you’re keen on seeing how you stack up against Canada’s best, it’s definitely the race to put on your calendar. Some very challenging tracks, lots of tight competition and Canada’s enduro champ’s birthplace!”
A new date, same big energy
This year, the event moves back by a week, pushing it deeper into late September. The shift makes room for what Morton calls “undoubtedly the wildest weekend of enduro racing on the Canadian calendar.” With the Sun Peaks Bike Park season wrapping up, the event serves as both a season finale for racing and a celebration of the region’s world-class trails.
Morton emphasizes the appeal beyond just the race itself:
“Even if you’re not a serious racer, this event is worth signing up for because the trails at Sun Peaks are hands down some of the best in Canada. Many EDR riders have commented that the course is often high on their list of favourites in the world—honourable mention to Squamish Enduro, which always gets mentioned!”
Racing, trails and community impact
The Canadian enduro national championship draws elite riders from across the country. It also serves as a major community-driven event. For 2025, 10 per cent of racer entries will go directly to the Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association (SPRTA) to support local trail development and maintenance.
“So really, why should you sign up for the event?” Morton asks. “Well, it’s where all your friends are going to be, plus a bunch of year-end après shenanigans. It really is the best place to be in late September.”
A legacy of enduro racing
The Canadian enduro national championship has been a fixture of the national race scene since its founding nine years ago. Morton and his team have run every edition since. While not sanctioned by Cycling Canada, the race remains a respected and highly competitive event, attracting some of the fastest riders in the country.
“Nine years ago, we founded and hosted the first-ever Canadian national enduro championships, and we’re proud to have been behind every enduro championship since—it’s just what we do.”
With course details and additional race dates to be announced soon, riders can expect another challenging and well-organized event that showcases the best of Canadian enduro racing.
Looking ahead to September
For racers, the 2025 Canadian enduro national championship is a chance to compete against Canada’s top riders, ride some of the best trails in the country, and close out the season in style. For fans and first-time participants, it’s an opportunity to be part of the community, soak up the atmosphere and experience Sun Peaks at its best.
As Morton puts it:
“Lock it in, book the time off, and get ready to end the season the right way!”
