Disera and Walter win Whistler Canada Cup XCO

Photo by: BCBRCanada Cup cross country racing reached the end of its western leg, and the halfway point of the national series, in Whistler over the weekend. After stops in Canmore and Whistler, the series heads to Sherbrooke, Que., then on to Kentville, N.S. and Dieppe, N.B.
Elite XCO
Sandra Walter (Liv) and Peter Disera (Norco Factory Racing) waltz away from Whistler with Canada Cup XCO wins in the elite races.
Disera was chased by Logan Sadesky (RMCC) and the U.S.’s Robbie Day. Walter put a solid margin into Juliette Larose-Gingras (Equipe du Quebec/Ponsse) and Emilly Williams (Ellevate XC).
Junior XCO
In the junior racing, Merin Lowe (Stimulus-Orbea) and Jack Spranger (Bear National) take the top podium positions. Lowe was followed by Marie-Fay St.-Onge (Siboire) and Ophelie Grandmont (CNMSA). Spranger travelled north from the U.S. to win ahead of Maxime St.-Onge (Siboire) and Cam McCallum (Charge BCXC).
Canada Cup cross country racing continues in Sherbrooke, Que. on July 17. Then it’s on to 2022 Canadian XCO national championships at Oro Station, Ont. on July 23-24.
