Emily Batty is likely enjoying some well-deserved time off after leading Team Canada with her incredible bronze medal ride at XCO world championships. Her podium placing Trek Top Fuel, though, headed straight from Switzerland to Reno, Nevada for 2018 Interbike.

Trek’s Top Fuel that carried the Canadian onto the podium in Lenzerheide is a custom, world championships edition for the Trek Factory Racing team. Batty often races on Trek’s hardtail XC bike, but the 27.5” worlds bike does feature dual suspension. The softer ride helped carry speed through the treacherous roots and rocks of the Swiss course. With minimal paint and no dropper post, though, it’s unquestionably a pure cross country race rocket.

How well does it work? Any bike that leads to a post-race champagne celebration is probably pretty fast.
