Five Custom Bikes from Red Bull Rampage 2018

Riders head into the desert decked out with special bikes for the infamous freeride competition

Red Bull Rampage 2018

Red Bull Rampage is set to take on the steep desert landscape outside Virgin, Utah for another year of the biggest lines in freeride competition.

There’s a new venue for the 2018 edition of Rampage, so competitors have been out scouting and digging fresh lines down the rocky cliffs. With new lines come new custom paint schemes for several of the riders, as sponsors look to give that extra boost to riders as they take on one of the most intimidating competition venues in cycling.

Here’s five of the best bikes from the Red Bull Rampage 2018

Bret Rheeder’s Trek Session

Canadian slopestyle star Brett Rheeder will take on the big cliffs outside Virgin, Utah on a custom painted Trek Session, built specially for Red Bull Rampage. Almost every bike has been modified and beefed up for the desert venue, and Rheeder’s Session looks like it’s ready for battle.

Jordie Lunn’s YT Tues

Victoria, B.C.’s Jordie Lunn paused filming on the third installment of his Rough As F*&k video series to head down to Virgin for Red Bull Rampage. The whole YT gang has custom painted Tues bikes for the event, and Lunn’s is as colourful as its extensively tattooed rider.

Carson Storch’s Rocky Mountain Maiden

Oregon’s Carson Storch is riding a WW2 bomber inspired paint job on his Rocky Mountain Maiden for the desert throw-down in Utah. It’s an incredibly detailed work of art, hand painted by fellow Bend resident KC Badger.

Vincent Turpin’s Scott Gambler

Vinny T’s Scott Gambler is painted with a unique green theme, built out with matching green parts from British components manufacturer Hope Tech. Turpin is no stranger to big lines and committed moves, so the detailed green pain scheme should make it through unscathed.

Reed Bogg’s Trek Session

21-year old competitor Reed Bogg’s has a simpler, but still striking look for his Rampage rig. Bogg’s Trek Session is sporting a simple white and gold look. After all, he’s about to launch the bike down some of the steepest and most challenging terrain around. It’s probably going to leave with a couple scratches, right?
