Highlights and winning runs from the moon dust of Andorra World Cup DH
Eliot Jackson recaps a memorable weekend in Vallnord, plus winning men's and women's runs
Exceptionally dry conditions and an infamously steep track made for a wild weekend of World Cup downhill racing in Vallnord, Andorra.
Top riders were hunting for traction, and a cloud of dust seemed to linger over the steeper sections of track during the elite finals.
Many riders crashed in the slippery conditions. Nina Hoffmann rode out her run with only one shoe on. Those that did survive unscathed had their share of close calls. Only the top few riders looked to be in control, somehow finding purchase in the loose dust.
