Industry Nine launches new Trail 270 wheel in 27.5” and 29”

Wider, stronger, and numerous possible colour options

Industry Nine : Trail 270 wheelset : 29″ 32H

Industry Nine has launched its new Trail 270 wheelset, which replaces their previous Trail 245 rim. Key changes for the new Trail 270 wheelset include increased width, and the tapered-bead sidewall featured in Industry Nine’s burlier Enduro 305 and Grade 300 downhill rims. The Trail 270 is available in both 27.5” and 29” diameters, and 32- and 24-hole configurations for each wheel diameter, with the 24-hole option intended to provide a lighter overall weight and more forgiving ride. The new rims continue to be laced to the Industry Nine’s colourful and audibly distinct Torch hubs. While the Asheville, N.C.-based wheel company has expanded into carbon rims in recent years, they continue to expand their line of high end aluminum rims like the Trail 207.

The Trail 270 adds 2.5 mm of width over the earlier model, stepping the Trail 240’s 24.5-mm width up to a more modern 27-mm internal, 31-mm external width. The change is designed to work with the wider tires that have become popular in recent years. Industry Nine states the rims can run tires anywhere in the 2.2”– 2.5” range. Industry Nine offers the Trail 270 in its full range of spoke and hub options, which can be fully customized through the AnoLab service.
