Kurt Sorge in Emmy-winning trip down an active volcano

Volcanico documents three-rider crews trip down Nicaragua's Volcan San Cristobal

Kurt Sorge Volcanico

Watching Nelson, B.C.’s Kurt Sorge shred down an active Nicaraguan volcano with Nico Vink and Kyle Jameson could be the closest mountain bike gets to the visual effect of a ski movie, and it’s incredible.

There’s been other mountain bike movies that push for a similar feel as a winter action movie, but something about three riders and a wide open mountain sets Volcanico apart. It could be the incredible riding of the Red Bull Rampage-winning Canadian and his two freeriding buddies.

It could also be the way the moment was captured. Others agree, it seems, and Katt Katsolis won an Emmy Award for his aerial footage in Volcanico.

To celebrate the achievement, Modify Content has cut the movie together with it’s sequel, Return to Momotombo into the four minute trailer you can watch above.

If that’s not enough, you can watch the full 20 minute trip below. Volcanico documents the first of the trio’s trips to Nicaragua with the Modify Content crew, to ride the Volcan San Cristobal. The return trip, documented in Return to Momotombo, sees the three riders summit Volcan Momotombo and, of course, the epic ride back down.
