Liv Racing signs Sandra Walter to 14 rider team

Coquitlam, B.C. cross country racer parlays successful World Cup season into new team for 2019

After a successful 2018 World Cup season, Sandra Walter is moving up to a new team for 2019. She’ll be joining 13 other riders on the international Liv Racing team.

It shouldn’t be hard for the Canadian cross country racer to adjust to her new surroundings, though, as Walter’s been with Liv Canada since 2013.

Last season, Walter moved up through the crowded women’s elite World Cup field to land several impressive results. A 15th on a treacherously muddy course in Albstadt, Germany was followed by 19th at the World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy, and 14th at the Short Track XC race in Vallnord, Andorra.

In addition to her international results, Walter was second at Canadian cross country national championships in Canmore, Alta. In November, she added another Canadian podium to her resume, finishing third at cyclocross national championships in Peterborough, Ont.. Those results pushed Walter into double digits for podium results at Canadian championships, with 10.

YEEOW! I'm pumped to be joining Liv Racing this season alongside 13 other shredders. @livcyclingcanada has supported me since 2013 and I'm so grateful to the Canadian crew for the massive role they've played (and will continue to play) in my career. Thanks to everyone for the opportunities. Looking forward to more great times ahead! ??? . .
