After a long winter, it's race week on the World Cup downhill circuit

After a long winter of waiting, scouring for tech rumors online, following team transfers and early season regional races, it is finally time for the first round of World Cup downhill racing. The drama and excitement of the World Cup circuit starts off on the Croatian island of Lošinj with a short and brutally rocky course that will challenge racers, equipment and mechanics in equal measure.

The unique island location sees racers drop down a ridgeline through panoramic ocean views, through forested areas into a gradually more urban environment. Rock walls and fences blend into the jagged landscape, forcing racers to remain vigilant or risk losing a tire, and likely more than a couple rims, before the course drops onto the narrow lanes and alleys of Lošinj town center. Racers will navigate the unique urban finale to end their run just metres from the water of the town center harbour, in a spectacular, viewer friendly finish area.
