Marzocchi’s new Bomber Air shock is slightly off

A DH rated shock to fit the biggest - or littlest - bikes

Marzocchi’s new Bomber Air shock looks a little different. A little off. But for a good reason. The iconic suspension brand built its new shock to fit as many frames as possible, and to be easy to adjust on the fly. Tilting the air reservoir just a little to the side helps achieve both those goals.

Big shock, little bikes

As you would expect from Marzocchi, the Bomber Air is built tough. It’s DH-rated for use with the biggest bikes for the biggest hits. With the off-axis reservoir, though, it also brings that tough attitude to short travel bikes. There are more and more short travel bikes built for aggressive riding, like the Norco Optic or Canyon Spectral 125, and Marzocchi wanted to build a shock that worked for that, too. So the Bomber Air is available in a huge range of sizes, in Metric and Trunnion mounting options.

Large volume for better flow

Tilting the air reservoir allows Marzocchi to keep the Bomber Air a high volume shock. A higher volume of oil, and easier flow between the main shock body and reservoir, produces a more consistent performance over a wider range of features, from little jumps to big hits, and over long descents.

Easily accessible compression adjustments lets you fine tune that performance, even while you’re out on the trail. Like Marzocchi’s forks, the adjustments knobs are designed to be easy to access and intuitive to use so that you don’t need an engineering degree to get the most out of your bike.

If the levers don’t offer enough adjustment, Marzocchi offers air volume spacers in 0.1 C.I. increments. There’s also travel-reducing spacers if you decide you want less bounce.
