“Peaking” tells Jenny Rissveds’ story in her own words

The Olympic champion details her long journey back at the top of cross country mountain biking

At just 22, Jenny Rissveds took the cross country world by storm, winning the Olympic mountain bike gold medal at the 2016 games.

What followed was anything but expected. The Swedish rider suffered with depression so serious that she ended up withdrawing from the sport entirely for two years.

In 2019, Rissveds is back racing, and winning World Cups. Peaking, an eight-episode documentary series produced by Red Bull Media house, tells the Swedish racer’s story in her own words.

Peaking premiers Friday, Sept. 13th, at 9:00 PM EST on The CW channel, bringing Rissveds’ story to national television. It is also streaming online on Red Bull TV.

Other athletes to featured in the series, which will be shown on The CW include freeride mountain bikers Carson Storch, Nocholi Rogatkin, and the late Kelly McGarry of New Zealand, as well as motocross, snowboard and surf athletes. All of whom face bigger challenges than just their next competition. The CW describes Peaking as “raw, compelling, and shows a new side to these athletes that you’re used to seeing on the podiums.”
