Wild winning runs from Val di Sole World Cup DH

How Greenland and Cabirou tamed the Black Snake

Always one of the season’s most challenging World Cup tracks, Val di Sole was especially rough this year.

Many of the world’s fastest riders appeared to be thrown off their game by unpredictable weather and constantly changing course conditions.

While we might have expected wily veterans to shine under such conditions, it was two first time World Cup winners taking top honours in Val di Sole. In the junior races, there was two new faces on the top podium step.

Laurie Greenland has always excelled when track conditions are a little more loose than predictable. Marine Cabirou has been on the verge of winning a World Cup for what seems like years. Watching both take their first-ever wins in Val di Sole had the Italian crowd on their feet all day.

Watch their winning runs below to see how Cabirou and Greenland charmed the “Black Snake” of Val di Sole World Cup
