SRAM issues recall for limited 2019 RockShox forks

Recall applies to small run of Lyric and Yari 29" forks sold in U.S. and Canada

SRAM has issued a recall notice for a limited run of RockShox Yari and RockShox Lyric 29″ suspension forks.

The forks were sold as aftermarket accessories and on bikes from select companies in the U.S. and Canada. About 840 forks are believed to be effected. 80 of these were sold in Canada.

According to SRAM’s recall notice, the fork’s lower leg assembly can break and cause the rider to lose control, posing crash and injury hazards.

The forks were sold on bikes between January 2019 and March 2019. Aftermarket forks were sold through bicycle stores from February 2019 through April 2019.

RockShox Recall bikes

Serial numbers included in the recall run from 02T95514009 through 08T96214665 on RockShox Lyrik 29″ and RockShox Yari 29″ front suspension forks. The serial number can be found on the rear of the fork crown. Recalled forks are black black and red. Forks included in the recall will have the casting code 18 and O or 19 and A embossed inside the webbing of the fork arch, as shown below:

SRAM is asking consumers with the recalled forks to immediately stop using the fork. Owners can contact SRAM or a local dealer to receive a free replacement fork. Consumers can check their serial number at www.sram.com or contact SRAM for assistance
