If you remember mountain biking in the 90’s at all, or even the early 2000’s, you likely remember seeing Tinker Juarez on the front of a cross country race.

Tinkers age-defying competitive cross country career spanned decades, from the late 1980’s through to the early 2000’s. The American legend still races, though his focus has shifted to longer marathon and endurance style events.

Burned into the memory of many a Tinker fan are the Volvo-Cannondale Team’s series of blue CAAD frames, raced from 1998 through 2002. Cannondale recently released a limited run of retro F-Si Hi-Mod framesets paying tribute to the iconic 90’s CAAD bikes, as well as the viper red F2000 Tinker raced in 1995.

Reggie apparel’s Jeff Wills went one step further. With the help of Toronto’s custom paint house, Velocolour, Wills personalized his throwback F-Si, adding further details to bring it closer to the full team look of what Tinker raced in the late 90’s. There’s also a few non-standard updates, including the ABBA-inspired take on the team sponsors.

Along with the fresh paint, there’s a full top-level race build, set to carry Wills through 2019’s cross country race season like it’s 1999(-ish). From fresh new Shimano XTR to ENVE wheels and parts, Schwalbe tires and Arundel bottle cages, this build is nothing but high notes. Then there’s the titanium eeWings crankset from Cane Creek, which takes this F-Si to the next level.
