Watch: Downhill national champion Vaea Verbeeck takes on Crankworx Whistler

DeityTV follows Verbeeck through a week of racing and podiums at Whistler's 15th Crankworx festival

Deity Vaea Verbeeck

Vaea Verbeeck has had a long and successful 2018 season, capped off by reclaiming her Canadian downhill national championship title.

For its new series, Women of Deity, DeityTV focuses on the re-crowned Canadian as she carries the maple leaf jersey through Crankworx Whistler. It’s a tough week of racing everything from downhill to dual slalom, and the whip-off world championships. Verbeeck shines throughout, landing on more than one podium in Whistler Village.

The effort ends with a third place in the Queen of Crankworx competition, a year long series that started way back in March at Crankworx Rotorua. Verbeeck won her first race of the season in Rotorua at the Redwoods DH, before injuring herself in training.
