It is time to start getting excited about World Cup downhill racing again

Spring is just nearly here, Daylight Saving is just around the corner. That means one thing: its time to start getting excited about racing!

The first downhill World Cup of the year is slightly over a month away. The UCI is as excited as the rest of us, and has put together this downhill teaser. With all the biggest names in gravity racing, new and returning venues, and world championships returning to Mont-Saint-Anne Que. in August, it is going to be an exciting year at the races!

The first World Cup downhill of the season gets underway April 27-28, 2019 in Maribor, Slovenia. The classic venue returns to shake up the downhill calendar after nearly a decade away. Maribor last hosted a World Cup in 2010.

Cross country racers get nearly a whole month of training time before they settle into the start grid in Albstadt, Germany. After making a successful debut last year, Short Track XCC starts right from the opening round. Racers taking on the high paced seeding race on May 18, 2019 before the first Olympic distance XCO the following day.
