After an exciting week of early season competition, Crankworx World Tour is back and in Innsbruck, Austria for the second in the four stop Crankworx series. You can catch the action live from Austria all weekend on Crankworx.com

Events run all weekend, with Friday hosting the Mons Royal Dual Speed and Style, a combination of racing and judged slopestyle tricks run side-by-side, and the re-scheduled Oakley Alpine Whip-Off Championships, which were moved from Wednesday night due to weather.

Saturday is the big show, with Canada’s Brett Rheeder lining up as one of the top favourites for the Crankworx Innsbruck Slopestyle competition after winning the opening round in Rotorua. Martin Soderstron, a major challenger for Rheeder in slopestyle, crashed hard enough in Friday’s whip-off event that the Swedish slopestyle star dropped out of the Speed and Style event later that day.

Events started Thursday with the Pump Track Challenge, where France’s Adrien Loron, current King of Crankworx was pushed to his limit, and then slightly further by fellow countryman Chaney Guennet. Loron washed out in the final round, conceding the win to Guennet.

The Women’s Pump Track Challenge saw a rematch of Queen of Crankworx Jill Kintner (USA) up against the 20-year-old Kialani Hines (USA) in the final, just as had happened in Rotorua. Like in New Zealand, Kintner was able to hold off the younger generation to take the win. Notable third place was 16-year-old World Cup downhill racer Valentina Höll, who raced to third in front of a very supportive home crowd for her first elite podium finish ever. Canada’s Vaea Verbeeck, returning from an injury sustained in Rotorua finished the evening in fifth.
