Weekend Preview – Turkeys, Otters, XC’s and anticipation

Regional and provincial racing spreads east across Canada this weekend

Sea Otter isn’t the only thing happening this weekend in the world of mountain bikes. Ontario’s XC marathon series starts at Turkey Point, while the Island Cup keeps rolling, stopping in the small town of Cumberland, B.C. Meanwhile, after last weekends US Pro GRT downhill in Port Angeles, the gravity crowd is waiting with anticipation for the first World Cup downhill of the year in Maribor, Slovenia.

Logan Sadesky was seond in expert at round one of the Island Cup series in Victoria, B.C.

Turkey Point XCM

Otario’s XCM series gets started early at Turkey Point this year. Crews have been out clearing and brushing trail in preparation for the Canadian cross country season to get going east of B.C.

Island Cup – Cumberland XC

While the rest of Canada is just getting ready to test their race legs for the first time, Island Cup racers are already hitting the halfway point of the Island Cup XC season. This weekend the regional series stops in to Cumberland, B.C., the small town with a big trail network.
