Weekend Preview – Turkeys, Otters, XC’s and anticipation
Regional and provincial racing spreads east across Canada this weekend
Sea Otter isn’t the only thing happening this weekend in the world of mountain bikes. Ontario’s XC marathon series starts at Turkey Point, while the Island Cup keeps rolling, stopping in the small town of Cumberland, B.C. Meanwhile, after last weekends US Pro GRT downhill in Port Angeles, the gravity crowd is waiting with anticipation for the first World Cup downhill of the year in Maribor, Slovenia.
Turkey Point XCM
Otario’s XCM series gets started early at Turkey Point this year. Crews have been out clearing and brushing trail in preparation for the Canadian cross country season to get going east of B.C.
Island Cup – Cumberland XC
While the rest of Canada is just getting ready to test their race legs for the first time, Island Cup racers are already hitting the halfway point of the Island Cup XC season. This weekend the regional series stops in to Cumberland, B.C., the small town with a big trail network.
