Deore XT – $880
Shimano
13117
With the seemingly endless number of aftermarket wheelsets, it’s not surprising that some riders forget Shimano also offers wheel options for anyone wanting to upgrade their ride. While the XTR wheelset may get the attention of the price-is-no-object cross-country racer, most riders can get similar performance with significant price savings by considering the Deore XT offerings. Using a 24-spoke pattern with a straight and two-cross rear wheel lacing, the Deore XT wheels provide outstanding lateral and torsional rigidity. For exceptional rim strength without additional weight, Shimano uses a reinforced spoke-hole rim extrusion. Finally, Shimano offers the Deore XT wheelset with 15 or 20mm front wheel Thru-Axles and tubeless tire compatibility making them an ideal choice for XC or all-mountain riding.
